Slumping Galaxy Look to Stop Rumbling Earthquakes

The Galaxy, coming off their lose to Chivas USA, now return home to play an San Jose Earthquakes team that 2-1-2 in its last 5 games and two points off from the top spot in the Western Conference. LA has been struggling to put the ball in the net, scoring only 2 goals in the last 4 games and 11 goals through the season thus far.

To add to the offensive woes, The Galaxy will be without Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane, who are both on international duty. The lacklaster LA defense may be dodging a bullet with Chris Wondolowski also being called up for national team duty, but Steven Lenhart and former Galaxy player Alan Gordon are still dangerous threats that can expose the soft center defense of LA.

Even with both teams missing major players, the losses to LA’s starting line-up will be more of a hinderance as the lineup will need major retooling. Expect Edson Buddle and Chad Barrett to be the starting forwards for LA with one of the two taking Keane’s spot while Kyle Nakawaza could possibly plug in for Landon in the midfield position.

In any case, LA must put together a string of winning results if they have any hope of salvaging their season and the hope of the fans and supporters of the Galaxy hope that’s sooner rather than later.
