LA Galaxy 2013 Season Preview

Written by Terry Munoz on .

The 2013 MLS season is almost here, and I for one, can’t wait! I’m looking forward to seeing what the defending MLS Cup Champions will do this season. The way last season started for Los Angeles Galaxy, very few expected them to make it to the MLS Cup final, let alone win it! LA Galaxy’s best defender, Omar Gonzalez , was injured before the season started. He had been loaned to the German club, FC Nürnberg. During his first training session, he collided with another player and tore his ACL. He was out for 6 months.

Galaxy Come Back to Beat Whitecaps

Written by Terry Munoz on .

If you didn’t watch Thursday’s LA Galaxy v Vancouver Whitecaps match, you definitely missed out. It produced an incredible comeback from the defending champions, LA Galaxy. Sure, you can’t compare it to Manchester City’s comeback against QPR in the final game of last season, but it was still a great comeback for LA.

Next up for Los Angeles Galaxy is Toronto FC at the Home Depot Center. This is the 3rd time LA and TFC will meet this season, but the first time they will meet in MLS play. The other two times they played each other in CONCACAF Champions League. Their first match ended in a 2-2 draw. However, when they came back to HDC, LA lost 2-1 to TFC. With this loss, they were knocked out of the Champions League.

Well, Los Angeles Galaxy’s winning streak has come to an end. They played Puerto Rico Islanders in CONCACAF Champions League and that match ended in a scoreless draw. However, LA Galaxy is still on an unbeaten streak. In fact, the last time LA Galaxy lost was on August 5th against Seattle Sounders. Since then they have won or drawn all their matches.

I think it’s safe to say that the LA Galaxy team that won MLS Cup last year is finally back. Not only have they won their last 5 games, they have kept clean sheets in their last 4 matches. Friday night, LA Galaxy played against the Colorado Rapids and won 2-0.
