DC United Fall to Toronto FC

Written by Robert Moore on .

In this weeks analysis of DC United's performance against Toronto FC at RFK Stadium, I'm certainly going to sound like a broken record.  Week after week I constantly feel as if I say the same thing: DC United lack leadership, cannot finish their chances, and overall seem content with losing.  The current MLS campaign for DC United is just going terribly as nearly none of the members within the ranks are taking responsibility for terrible performance after terrible performance.  United's 1-2 defeat to Toronto FC was another one of these instances where throughout the entire match it seemed quite apparent that DC were never going to come away with the three points.

MLS Scarf Xchange Information

Written by Staff on .

With a hat tip to “Swap of the Table”, where jerseys are swapped, we wanted to create a community where MLS fans could come together to participate in the tradition of swapping scarves. A lot of fans can’t make it on road trips to various MLS stadiums to trade scarves with fellow supporters. With that being said we are creating a “virtual stadium” if you will, a meeting place for people to find scarves and trade them.

Portland Hosts Western Conference Leaders FC Dallas

Written by Max Aguirre on .

The Portland Timbers need points. They have 23 for third in the West behind FC Dallas with 28 and Real Salt Lake with 27. Seattle, LA, and Colorado are all close on Portland’s heels with 21, 20, and 20 points respectively. With three teams within one to two games of the Timbers in-conference wins are vital. Three points on Saturday would give Portland some breathing room before travelling to The Home Depot Center in LA next Wednesday.

Stock Rising/Falling: Revs v Red Bulls

Written by Seth Macomber on .

I love the US Open Cup. I love the rich history of unexpected heroes and surprise upsets. The tournament gives different players an opportunity to show their worth in a meaningful way. With this in mind, I have decided to take a different approach to writing about the Revs 2013 Open Cup experience. Each game, I will talk about what players saw their stocks rise or fall because of their performances.

Cup Over MLS Campaign? FCD Faces Tough Roster Decisions

Written by Cory Jensen on .

How many FCD supporters, in recent memory, could remember having Houston at home twice per season? You would have to go back to 2009 to imagine that fantasy scenario. It is not a dream, however, and both sides look to field strong starting XI’s in Wednesday’s US Open Cup clash in Frisco.

Revs Excited about Open Cup Match in Boston

Written by Seth Macomber on .

After a two week hiatus, the New England Revolution will resume US Open Cup play when they host the New York Red Bulls on Wednesday. The Revs advanced in the tournament after a convincing 5-1 victory over their USL-Pro affiliate the Rochester Rhinos. The competition will now get tougher but that doesn’t mean that the Revs will lose sight of winning the Open Cup for a second time.

In Chelis We Trusted

Written by Andrew Watson on .

On May 29th 2013 Chivas USA announced that they had agreed to part ways with Head Coach José Luis Sánchez Solá or “Chelís”, after just 3 months in charge of the Rojiblancos. The press release stated that is was due to the team’s poor performance on the field. That was just over one week ago, and although the dust has by no means settled after this shock announcement, I feel composed enough now to discuss the fallout from this decision.

DC United Snag a Point from New England at Gillette Stadium

Written by Robert Moore on .

On a brisk Saturday evening in Massachusetts, DC United displayed what seemed to be a new found confidence moving forward. After a disappointing start to their MLS campaign (1-10-2, 5 points) which is good for last place in the Eastern Conference, Ben Olsen made another gutsy move to leave Brandon McDonald and Dwayne De Rosario out of the starting XI. As the first team regulars continue to disappoint both with comments concerning positioningg or just poor play, Olsen is successfully instilling a fighter mentality into his men - whomever that may be. DC United traveled to Gillette Stadium to take on a resurgent New England Revolution side who looked to demolish DC just as they had previously done to a very bright LA Galaxy side in the weeks prior. For the Black & Red, with De Rosario out of the lineup, John Thorrington retained captaincy for his brilliant play earlier in the season before he suffered a heartbreaking injury - DC are surely glad to have him back.
