San Jose Expolits Revs' Mistakes to Earn Win

Written by Renny Swan on .

Revolution players wasted no time sharing their disappointment on Twitter after this game. Ryan Cochrane (@RyanTCochrane) called it "...a tough one to swallow." Darius Barnes (@D_Barnes25) said it was "So disappointing..." echoing Shalrie Joseph (@ShalrieJoseph21), while Kevin Alston (@KAlston30) simply posted "Well that sucks." It looked fairly even, until it wasn't. San Jose capitalized on their opportunities to end the game with more goals than New England.

Late Goal Seals Latest Loss for KC

Written by James Tott on .

June 9th can’t come soon enough for Sporting fans. This is no truer than after Sporting’s latest defeat to Seattle. The Kansas City club has now only been able to muster 1 point out of their last 7 league matches.

Fire Fall to Union 2-1

Written by Jeff Krause on .

The Chicago Fire’s visit to PPL Park to face the Philadelphia Union was as much of a roller coaster as the Fire have experienced this season. The result, unfortunately, was a break of their four game draw streak, however, as ultimately they fell to the Union 2-1.

Rare Sunday Match for RSL

Real Salt Lake makes the trip to Pizza Hut Park tonight to face off against FC Dallas for the first time since their playoff series against the Hoops last fall (a series won by FCD). Here are some talking points for this rare Sunday affair for the Royals:

The (Home) Away Game - 1st Superclasico

Written by Johnathon Sykes on .

First, introductions! I’m Johnathon Sykes, taking over for Christopher Dwyer who was writing previously on the Galaxy beat for Total-MLS. I hope I inform and entertain giving you Galaxy previews, reviews, and news throughout the season. I am a LA native (Brockman baby!) currently living in Atlanta but still follow the team religiously. But enough about me, we are here for a preview so let’s get into it.

Red Bulls Face Tough Challenge in Houston

Written by Hannah Paskow on .

The New York Red Bulls face a tough challenge this week as they head out to Texas to take on the Houston Dynamo. After losing at home to Chivas USA, the road does not get any easier for New York. Houston sits only two points behind the Red Bulls and with a win, the Houston Dynamo can take over first place in the Eastern Conference.

Crew Look to Bounce Back in Portland

Written by Kevin Caslow on .

This Saturday the Crew travel north from San Jose to face Portland on the second leg of their west coast swing. The Crew had a terrible loss at San Jose; we all want to forget this loss and shoot for a win in Portland. This is easier said than done because Portland has recorded all four of their wins at home.  With that being said the Crew have not been spectacular on the road, 0-2-2 with a scoring record of seven against and two for, the Crew. The Crew need to represent themselves better on the road and to do that they need to score goals. The scoring record shows that this has not been happening. The scoring is happening in the second half this season but it seems that they want to challenge the record New England holds for fifteen straight games of not scoring in the first half. As it stands now they have tied the MLS record for consecutive games without a goal in the first half for the start of the season at nine, currently held by the Houston Dynamo. To break out of the habit of scoring in the second half the Crew need to be more dynamic in the forward position.

Chivas USA Take on Galaxy in Superclasico

Written by Alicia Ratterree on .

Chivas USA will seek to start a new winning streak on Saturday against the L.A. Galaxy (10 pm ET, ESPN2/ESPN Deportes). After their big win on the road against New York Red Bulls last week, the Goats will seek to finish up their 3 week stretch against the league’s best teams on a high. Certainly following a tough loss to Real Salt Lake and the win against New York, Chivas have the confidence that they can finally get a win against the Galaxy. They have not beaten the Galaxy since 2007, and given their impressive form recently it seems that streak could end.

Revs Face Quakes in Battle of Underachievers

Written by Renny Swan on .

Saturday the Earthquakes and Revolution should be a competitive game. Both teams could be called underachievers so far this season. San Jose dominated the Crew last weekend and made a run last year after a "slow start." Both teams will feel that they can earn a result. Last week, New England used a PK to win at home against the Whitecaps.
